MARTIAL ARTS PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The First Baptist Church of Glenarden Martial Arts Program is dedicated to developing Dynamic Disciples as martial artists through the teachings of CHRISTIANITY, along with the principles of Bushido (Way of the Warrior).
The Seven characteristics of Bushido are:
Integrity (Job 2:3)
Respect
Courage
Honor
Compassion
Honesty
Loyalty
PURPOSE
Students will learn kata’s, tai sabaki (movement), proper punching and kicking techniques, along with control of the same. They will learn self-awareness through hard work and discipline during classes. They will advance through the ranks in a structured program designed to teach them the highest level of martial arts, which is to not use it. Students can avoid altercations at every level through effective communication and tactfulness.
ELIGIBILITY AND AGE
FBCG Martial Arts classes begin at the age of 7 years through adulthood, we have beginner through advanced level instruction. Classes are held a the Family Life Center on:
Wednesday, Shotokan: 8-9:45 pm
Thursday, Aikido: 8-9:45 pm
Friday, Shotokan: 7-8:45 pm
Saturday, Aikido: 10-11:45 pm
***Additionally, Tang Soo Do will be offered once the schedule is finalized. ***
